Job summary

PTI Engineered Plastics, Inc. is seeking a mechanically inclined technician to oversee automation and secondary equipment in a plastics manufacturing setting in Michigan.

You will set up, review, adjust and troubleshoot processes to drive safety, quality and efficiency, while collaborating with engineering teams on continuous improvement. Responsibilities include authorizing process changes, stopping unsafe or out-of-spec runs, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting program managers.

Qualifications

• 3 years hands-on experience with plastic injection molding.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, prints and schematics.
• Hands-on technical skills with robotics, automation and secondary equipment.
• Experience with low voltage DC electrical components (preferred).
• Some PLC knowledge/experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Set up, review, adjust and troubleshoot automation and secondary equipment.
• Authorize and implement changes to processes or equipment to improve efficiency, quality and safety.
• Halt unsafe production or out-of-spec parts.
• Ensure work instructions, process docs and setup sheets are accurate and accessible.
• Support engineering and program management and participate in design reviews.
