Job summary

Omnicell is seeking a Traveler Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 to travel to hospital sites, operate and optimize its automation technologies, and provide go-live support and training.

You will back up operations, ensure accurate medication handling, and work with Professional Services to drive successful implementations while meeting regulatory and travel requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA – CPhT/ExCPT).
• Active State Board of Pharmacy Technician License/Registration for state of residence.
• 1+ year inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and REAL ID and/or U.S. passport.
• COVID‑19 vaccination.
• Ability to travel 100%.

Responsibilities

• Travel to hospital customer sites to operate, support, and optimize Omnicell automation technologies.
• Assist with backups, go-lives, training, and ongoing customer success.
• Perform daily equipment operation, inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting per SOPs.
• Manage medication assignments remotely or onsite to ensure accurate setup and optimal inventory levels.
• Deliver hands-on customer support and training to drive adoption and long-term success.
• Collaborate with Professional Services and project teams for smooth implementations and outcomes.
• Serve as SME for Omnicell automation for customers and internal teams onsite.
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and Omnicell guidelines.

Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 - Traveler - CIN OH

Overview

As Traveler Automation Pharmacy Technician 4, you will travel to customer sites to operate, support, and optimize Omnicell’s advanced pharmacy automation technologies. You’ll play a critical role in backup support, go-lives, training, and ongoing customer success while supporting the Autonomous Pharmacy.

This role is ideal for experienced inpatient or CPhT pharmacy technicians who enjoy travel, technology, and making a real impact on patient care.

What You’ll Do

• Travel to hospital customer sites to operate, support, and optimize Omnicell automation technologies, including i.v.STATION, IVX Station & Workflow, XR2, PakPlus, and Automated Dispensing Cabinets.
• Support our hospital sites as backups, system implementations and go‑lives, including medication assignment, inventory loading/unloading, and staging activities.
• Perform daily equipment operation, inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting following SOPs and best practices.
• Manage medication assignments remotely or onsite using Omnicell tools to ensure accurate setup and optimal inventory levels.
• Deliver hands‑on customer support and training to drive adoption, confidence, and long‑term success.
• Collaborate closely with Professional Services and project teams to ensure smooth implementations and positive customer outcomes.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) f for Omnicell automation, supporting both customers and internal team members onsite.
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations, credentialing requirements, customer policies, and Omnicell travel and expense guidelines.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA – CPhT/ExCPT)
• Active State Board of Pharmacy Technician License/Registration for state of residence
• 1+ year inpatient pharmacy experience (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license and REAL ID and/or U.S. passport
• COVID‑19 vaccination
• Ability to travel 100%

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program
• 2+ years hospital pharmacy automation experience
• 1+ year IV compounding experience
• Automation implementation and basic troubleshooting experience
• Previous travel‑based role experience
