Job summary

Sonic Healthcare USA, Inc. is seeking an Automation & Orchestration Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable automation across our technology environment.

You will develop self-service provisioning, automate deployments, and implement robust IaC and CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery. The ideal candidate blends software engineering, systems administration, and DevOps expertise to reduce manual work, improve reliability, and enable teams to move faster with automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in Automation Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or related infrastructure roles.
• Strong scripting and programming skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash, Go, or similar languages.
• Hands-on experience with configuration management platforms such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Salt.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar tools.
• Strong Linux/Unix administration experience.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Git and source control best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automated workflows for infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and configuration management.
• Build and support orchestration solutions that coordinate complex workflows across systems, applications, and environments.
• Identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone processes and replace them with scalable automation.
• Develop self-service capabilities that improve operational efficiency and user experience.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for consistent environments.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery.
• Support containerized and cloud-native environments using modern deployment practices.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver scalable automation.
• Integrate monitoring, alerting, and self-healing into automated systems.
• Troubleshoot automation failures, pipeline issues, and orchestration challenges.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative solutions.
• Improve system reliability and platform stability.
• Create and maintain automation documentation, runbooks, workflows, and standards.
• Evaluate emerging automation tools to drive continuous improvement.
• Promote automation best practices across engineering teams.
