Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Palmdale, CA seeks an Automation Manufacturing Engineering Manager 2 to lead the tooling and automation program within the Tooling organization. The role oversees automated equipment, drives continuous improvement, and mentors engineers across multiple production lines.

You will partner with industrial engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams, require a STEM degree with 5+ years of tooling experience, and the ability to obtain DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 5 years of related engineering experience in tooling, assembly/fabrication lines, and production environments.
• Master's Degree in STEM with 3 years of related engineering experience in tooling, assembly/fabrication lines, and production environments.
• 2 years of leadership or management experience.
• Experience with CAD tools and leading large-scale tooling initiatives.
• Ability to obtain DoD secret clearance and Special program access.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the daily production availability of all automated equipment.
• Drive performance, sustainment, and continuous improvement of equipment and processes.
• Lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for automated production processes.
• Establish staffing, resource assignments, and sustain a skilled staff.
• Organize training and develop the automation team's knowledge and competencies.
