Job summary

International Flavors and Fragrances seeks an Automation Manager to lead automation, controls, and industrial technology systems within the manufacturing facility. This role drives design, implementation, maintenance, optimization, and continuous improvement of automated production equipment to maximize safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency.

The position collaborates with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and EHS teams to support plant performance objectives and capital

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related field required.
Master's degree preferred.
7–10 years in industrial automation with 3–5 years in leadership or supervisory roles.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute the plant automation strategy aligned with business goals.
Lead automation projects from concept through startup and commissioning.
Manage automation technicians, controls engineers, and external contractors.
Oversee PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and MES systems across manufacturing operations.
Develop backup, cybersecurity, and disaster recovery strategies for automation systems.
Lead troubleshooting and drive continuous improvement in automation performance.
Prepare project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical specifications.
