Job summary

Mitchell Plastics in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Maintenance Automation Technician to troubleshoot and repair automated assembly equipment on the production floor. You will support start-ups, prevent PMs, and implement improvements to keep lines running smoothly.

Qualified candidates have hands-on PLC-based control experience, pneumatic systems knowledge, and are pursuing Millwright certification; High School diploma required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing automated assembly equipment.
• Solid understanding of PLC-based machine logic.
• Willingness to pursue Millwright certificate.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on assembly machines to keep equipment in good condition.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns, troubleshoot and get production back online.
• Suggest upgrades to PM schedules to improve timing and efficiency.
• Support team during equipment start-ups and product change-overs.
• Assist in commissioning, testing, and launching brand-new production machinery.
• Keep clear logs of repairs and issues using tracking systems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects to optimize operations.
