Job summary

HarperCollins Publishers in Brownsburg, IN seeks a hands-on Maintenance Team Lead to guide technicians and keep a highly automated distribution center running safely and efficiently. You will troubleshoot and repair material handling, packaging, facility, and building systems while driving preventive maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement.

The role begins on first shift for startup and training, then transitions to third shift as needed after April 5, 2027.

Qualifications

5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing/warehouse environments.
2+ years supervising or leading a team.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting including PLCs.
Experience with automated material handling equipment and HVAC/plumbing systems.
Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
Familiarity with NEC/NFPA 70E and CMMS systems.

Responsibilities

Lead daily workflow and provide technical direction for Maintenance Technicians.
Coach and train team members to improve performance.
Plan and execute preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
Troubleshoot and repair automated material handling systems and conveyors.
Diagnose PLC-controlled equipment, electrical systems, sensors, VFDs, motors, hydraulics, and automation controls.
Serve as escalation point for complex issues and lead root-cause analyses.
