Job summary

Amgen in New Albany, OH seeks an Automation Maintenance Technician to support advanced plant equipment, instrumentation, and regulatory-aligned maintenance. The role emphasizes PLC/HMI troubleshooting, equipment optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure compliant operations.

The candidate will work first in a day shift then transition to a 12-hour PM shift, joining a 24/7 operation with potential non-standard hours. Amgen values safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in technical engineering.
• Experience with PLC, serialization, packaging equipment, inspection systems.
• Knowledge of CFRs, cGMPs, SOPs and regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities

• Complete advanced maintenance activities on complex plant equipment.
• Use PLC and HMI software to diagnose and troubleshoot automated systems.
• Coordinate tech support on engineering, regulatory, calibration, and quality issues.
• Assist during regulatory inspections and respond to FDA requests.
• Maintain an up-to-date spare parts inventory for equipment.
• Evaluate and optimize maintenance procedures and troubleshoot failures.
• Interpret P&IDs, HVAC, plumbing, and process instrumentation plans.
• Support operations on non-standard shifts, including weekends/holidays.
