Cardinal Health is hiring an Automation Technician for the Consumer Health Logistics Center in Groveport, Ohio. The role focuses on installing, maintaining, and replacing automation systems, ensuring high reliability and uptime across the production process.

You will work with motion sensors, PLCs, drives, sensors and related automation components, providing SME-level support to leadership and engineering teams. On-site, second shift with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

• Experience maintaining and repairing automation systems in a production/warehouse environment.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and software issues on automated lines.
• Familiarity with sensors, PLCs, drives and conveyors is a plus.

The Automation Technician at the Consumer Health Logistics Center (CHLC) will install, maintain, and replace automation systems throughout the production process, resulting in seamless operations, minimal downtime, and optimal equipment performance. This role will also troubleshoot component parts, including motion sensors, control components, photosensors, and other vital automation and conveyance technology. In addition to maintaining reliable operation, this role will operate as a subject matter expert (SME) for leadership and key decision-makers, delivering reports on current automation capabilities and future opportunities. The Automation Technician will be a part of the overall site Asset Management team with a strong focus on Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and will participate in various Preventive and Predictive maintenance programs.

About the Consumer Health Logistics Center

The Consumer Health Logistics Center (CHLC) will be Cardinal Health's newest Pharmaceutical Supply Chain operation in Groveport, Ohio. Location/Shift

This position will be an on-site position (5 days per week), based out of the Consumer Health Logistics Center

Second Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:30pm (or until task is complete)

Responsibilities

• Primary point of contact for Facilities Technician and Intelligrated technician for day-to-day work activities. Primary point of contact for Operations for automated conveyance system on assigned shift. Supports/coaches junior mechanics and escalates issues to Maintenance and Engineering Manager as needed.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Intelligrated automation systems, including conveyors, sorters, depalletizing robots, and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues on Intelligrated and other automated systems using diagnostic tools and technical schematics.
• Monitor system performance and address inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or recurring issues to improve reliability and uptime.
• Collaborate with the operations team to understand and respond to maintenance priorities and system performance concerns.
• Inspect and maintain motors, sensors, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), drives, belts, pulleys, and other automation components.
• Utilize Intelligrated-specific software and tools to manage and analyze equipment performance data.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures, ensuring the safe operation of automated systems and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, documentation, and reports, including parts inventory usage and service records.
• Assist Facilities Technician with troubleshooting building systems, as needed
• Assist with the installation, commissioning, and configuration of new Intelligrated automation systems, as needed.
