Job summary

SinnovaTek in Middlesex, NC is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift to support a highly automated production line. You will maintain and troubleshoot electrical instrumentation, sensors, servomotors, VFDs, and control devices to ensure high uptime on fillers, packaging, cooling, and related systems.

This hands-on role requires reading schematics, performing preventive maintenance, working safely under cGMP guidelines, and coordinating with OEMs for support.

Qualifications

• Understanding of industrial controls (24VDC systems, relays, safety circuits, solenoids, servo systems, VFDs, contactors).
• Hands-on experience with sensors and instrumentation (PNP/NPN, analog 4–20 mA, RTDs/thermocouples, proximity switches, encoders, flow/pressure devices).
• Comfortable working on equipment governed by PLCs and HMIs for fault identification and basic diagnostics.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and automation documentation.
• Skilled in root cause analysis and structured troubleshooting methods.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair issues related to sensors, transmitters, actuators, control devices, valves, motors, VFDs on automated production equipment.
• Install and maintain sensors, transmitters, vision systems, control devices, and field instrumentation (analog/digital, PNP/NPN, proximity, photoeyes, RTDs, pressure/flow sensors, etc.).
• Perform repairs on equipment such as fillers, packaging systems, thermal processing units, robotics, and conveying systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair utilities systems such as boilers, air compressors, chillers, HVAC.
• Rapidly respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Provide technical support for issues beyond the capability of production staff.
