Job summary

Berkshire Grey is seeking an experienced Installation Project Lead to drive and supervise on-site deployment of BG technology at customer facilities. You will manage installation teams, coordinate with site management, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires leadership of engineers, strong communication, and a proven ability to deliver projects on time while controlling costs. On-site work is required, with travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or similar technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in construction or installation management.
• Strong ability to read CAD drawings and electrical schematics.
• Experience leading teams of engineers.
• Knowledge of safety standards.
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks.

Job description

Roles And Responsibilities

• Lead installation/deployments of BG technology on customer sites from installation to System Engineering hand-off
• Ensure compliance to building and safety codes by all federal, state, and/or local regulations
• Manage installation contractors and work to resolve deployment issues
• Manage BG engineers while on site that are tasked with installation efforts
• Manage customer relationship on-site and coordinate site level tasks with local building management
• Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to meet installation criteria
• Drive feedback and improvement efforts from site to System Engineering teams
• Provide support to the active project to drive progress and prevent or mitigate stoppages or downtime
• Responsible for tracking and achieving project operational and budgetary metrics
• Develop standardization processes and technical solutions to drive down installation time and cost
• Oversee customer training and handoff tasks to guarantee a smooth integration of BG’s technology in existing operations

Required

Experience and Education:

• BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or similar technical field
• 5+ years of experience in construction or installation management

Preferred

• 8+ years of experience in construction or installation management
• Project management experience
• Robotics/industrial automation/manufacturing experience

Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated experience managing hardware installations and commissioning of industrial equipment
• Experience leading teams of engineers
• Experience managing construction contractors
• Knowledge and understanding of safety standards
• Ability to read and understand CAD drawings, electrical schematics, or other engineering diagrams
• Confidence and knowledge to convey technical explanations of problems or issues identified during deployment
• Understanding of warehouse management systems, software messaging flows, IT hardware
• Demonstrated experience with customer management and support
• Strong sense of urgency and leadership
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to work with senior levels of management internally and externally at site level
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously

Preferred (one Or More)

• High competence in at least one area: mechanical, electrical, or software systems
• Experience with project management software - MS Project, Smartsheets, etc.
• Experience with engineering defect tracking software – JIRA, etc.
