Job summary

FormFactor, Inc. is seeking an Automation Inspection Manufacturing Engineer in Livermore, CA. The role targets automated probe feature inspection, storage handling, and end-to-end production automation to boost yield and efficiency.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Product Engineering, and Wafer Engineering to deploy new automation technologies and support NPI. A strong background in metrology and semiconductor processes is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or three years with a Master’s).
• PhD without experience acceptable in some cases.
• Equivalent work experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement automated inspection solutions for probe feature inspection.
• Design, optimize, and sustain automated probe storage and handling processes.
• Support elimination of manual back-end inspection through automation.
• Provide engineering support for automated probe insertion equipment and process development.
• Develop and sustain semiconductor manufacturing processes to improve yield, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
• Support process qualification, validation, and implementation for new and existing products.
• Establish robust process controls using SPC, capability analysis, and data-driven decisions.
• Analyze manufacturing data to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Create and maintain engineering docs including work instructions, specs, FMEAs, control plans.
• Support ECO/ECCB changes and New Product Introduction activities.
• Train technicians and operators on equipment, automation systems, and best practices.
• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on automation and cost reduction.
