Siemens Healthineers is seeking an Automation & Informatics Consultant to provide onsite configuration, training, and troubleshooting for Automation and Informatic Middleware solutions. You will collaborate with hospital IT, lab management, and LIS vendors to implement software, network setup, and secure connectivity.

The role emphasizes verification, post-implementation support, upgrades, and participation in planning for new installations and workflow design.

Qualifications

• BS in Computing, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years' experience as a medical technologist or field service engineer servicing diagnostic instruments.
• Experience in Healthcare IT, security, and data privacy.
• Proficiency with Windows, Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, PowerShell, Bash, networking utilities, and troubleshooting tools.
• Strong understanding of OSI and TCP/IP networking models.
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and adaptability skills in a fast-changing environment.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; able to drive day and night.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, walk, climb, bend, twist, sit, squat, stand, and reach.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite system configuration support including pre-installation, installation, training, troubleshooting, and post-implementation activities.
• Work closely with Siemens Healthineers management and shift personnel to respond to complex system issues requiring onsite presence and advanced troubleshooting.
• Interact routinely with Laboratory Managers, Supervisors, IT Administrators, LIS vendors, and third‑party middleware partners.
• Perform software installation, network setup, and application configuration for Siemens Diagnostic middleware.
• Conduct verification and acceptance testing, delivering onsite and remote post‑implementation support.
• Execute software upgrades and updates as part of system maintenance.
• Participate in planning activities for new installations, system expansions, and workflow design.
• Support customer-specific workflow configuration decisions and assist in meeting business objectives.
• Independently troubleshoot and resolve software malfunctions; manage LIS interface communication and connectivity requirements.
• Follow the Siemens Diagnostics escalation process.
• Provide training to customer laboratory personnel on system operation, workflow, and configuration.
• Participate in customer and internal meetings or conference calls.
• Adhere to Siemens Healthineers quality and regulatory policies, maintaining professional conduct and responding positively to challenges.
• Manage computer hardware, physical ports, and software tools including ticketing documentation applications.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking (LAN/WAN, routing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, proxy servers) and remote access (RDP, SSH, VNC, VPN).
• Apply security concepts such as encryption, authentication, certificates, HIPAA, HITECH, firewalls, and HTTPS.

Base pay range: $90,780 - $124,828. Factors affecting starting pay include geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications. Eligibility for commissions is determined by the company plan.
