Job summary

Moog in Buffalo, NY seeks a hands-on Test Equipment Controls Engineer to own production and engineering test systems, driving modernization through automation, controls, instrumentation, and software development.

The role combines controls, automation, and test systems expertise to maintain and improve equipment used in manufacturing and new product development. Onsite work with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline.
5+ years experience with industrial test equipment and automation.
Experience with PLC-based control systems.
Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis.
Experience with instrumentation and data acquisition hardware.

Responsibilities

Own reliability and performance of production test stands for complex electromechanical and motion control products.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, instrumentation, and software issues to minimize downtime.
Design, build, modify, and upgrade production and engineering test equipment and data acquisition hardware.
Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems and automated machine logic.
Create and improve operator-facing HMI and GUI applications for usability and data visibility.
Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions related to test equipment issues.
Maintain documentation including schematics, control logic, and maintenance plans.
