Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) seeks a Clinical Laboratory Assistant to monitor and maintain automation lines in Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology, prep specimens, and route them efficiently. You will support LIS workflows and ensure accurate specimen labeling and timely processing.

You will work the full-time 4pm–12:30am shift, collaborate with lab staff, perform basic waived testing, troubleshooting and routine maintenance, and contribute to quality improvement while upholding

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s in clinical science preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in a clinical laboratory environment.
• Experience with waived testing and lab automation maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and maintains laboratory automation lines across Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology.
• Receives and prepares specimens, ensures proper labeling, and routes to sections within time frames.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and records activities.
• Operates LIS and patient registration systems, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
