Job summary

Autonomous Solutions, Inc. (ASI) seeks an Accountant I – Accounting Automation to support accurate financial recordkeeping and automate repetitive processes using AI. You will assist with reconciliations, schedules, and reporting while evaluating workflows and applying approved automation tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1–2 years of professional accounting or finance experience.
Working knowledge of GAAP principles.
Experience improving or automating at least one accounting, financial, reporting, or data-related process.
Proficiency in Excel with formulas, lookups, pivots, and data validation.
Experience with automation or AI-enabled tools (Power Query, Power Automate, Copilot, ChatGPT, Excel macros, Python, SQL).
Ability to explain how an automated process works and document it.
Understanding of risks and limitations of AI-generated output, including confidentiality.
Familiarity with SAP or willingness to become proficient.
Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to balance process innovation with controls and approvals.

Responsibilities

Record daily financial transactions accurately in the general ledger.
Reconcile subsidiary ledgers and investigate discrepancies.
Prepare financial statements with support from senior accountants.
Process accounts payable and receivable with proper documentation.
Support month-end close activities and reconciliations.
Maintain organized transaction records per GAAP and ASI procedures.
Generate standard reports using SAP, Excel, and other tools.
Assist in audit preparation by gathering data and responding to requests.
Identify repetitive or error-prone processes for automation.
Develop, test, and implement accounting automation improvements.
Use Excel functions, Power Query, Power Automate, and AI tools to streamline tasks.
Validate automated outputs against source data and requirements.
Document workflows, data sources, assumptions, and controls.
Monitor automated processes and escalate discrepancies as needed.
Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, and IT on controls and data security.
Handle financial information responsibly when using AI/automation tools.
