Job summary

The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in Lake Mary, FL is seeking a Manager, Quality Engineering & Release to build and own our automated testing and the release gate that makes it possible. This hands-on role requires establishing automated testing from the ground up, defining risk-based quality standards, and ensuring releases meet readiness criteria before deployment.

Qualifications

• Experience building a test automation practice from the ground up.
• Experience owning release management in sprint environments.
• Ability to make go/no-go release decisions with limited information.
• Hands-on automated testing design and maintenance.
• Experience integrating tests into CI workflows.
• Strong knowledge of test coverage, data, environments, and triage.
• Clear communication of quality decisions to engineers and executives.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own automated test framework from scratch.
• Define risk-based quality standards and testing strategy.
• Own Definition of Done, sprint exit criteria, and regression strategy.
• Shift quality left by reviewing acceptance criteria early.
• Own release readiness criteria and go/no-go discussions.
• Manage change control records, audits, and post-release verification.
• Collaborate with Engineering on deployments and release gates.
• Escalate production issues and drive root-cause analysis.
• Communicate quality, coverage, risks, and delays to stakeholders.
• Continuously improve quality engineering and release practices.
