Job summary

Magna International Limited in Piedmont, South Carolina, is seeking a Maintenance Associate to monitor automated production lines and perform setup, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. The role requires mechanical and electrical expertise and experience with robots and PLCs.

This is an on-site, full-time position with comprehensive benefits. You will support continuous improvement, assist with root cause analysis, and help maintain a safe, clean work environment while working with 5S

Qualifications

Associate’s degree required, or equivalent work/educational experience.
1-3 years experience in a manufacturing facility in a technical capacity.
Strong mechanical and electrical experience.
Experience with industrial robots (Kuka, Fanuc, ABB, etc.) strongly preferred.
Experience with PLC's (Allen Bradley, Siemens) and microcontrollers strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor assigned automated production lines, respond to downtime issues and help maintain safe, efficient operations.
Perform basic equipment operation and setup, including HMI controls, robotics operation, weld parameter adjustments, and product changeovers.
Conduct preventive maintenance activities (TPMs and PMs) to support equipment reliability and maximize production uptime.
Repair, rebuild, test, and verify manufacturing equipment and tooling to ensure proper performance and quality standards.
Assist maintenance technicians with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, robotic, and automation systems.
Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts by documenting equipment issues and helping implement reliability improvements.
Maintain an organized, safe, and clean work environment through strong 5S practices, inventory control, and proper handling of repairable components and spare parts.
