Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Automation Engineering Technician for a top Oil & Gas client. The role blends remote collaboration with hands-on field work at compressor stations and pipeline facilities, supporting commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of automation systems.

Responsibilities include installing and maintaining PLCs, HMIs, RTUs, and related control systems, implementing cybersecurity measures, and assisting with field data gathering to support engineers and

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent military/vocational/direct industry experience.
5-8+ years of automation, instrumentation, or control systems experience in an industrial setting.
Hands-on HMI experience and ability to read electrical drawings and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

Support commissioning activities for compressor and pipeline facilities.
Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair automation and control equipment.
Assist with control system configuration, software updates, and security settings.
Gather field data and support engineers with automation design and cyber policies.
