Job summary

J.B. Poindexter & Co., Inc. in Elkhart, IN, seeks a Director of Automation Engineering - Program Execution to shape and deliver the automation project portfolio across JBPCO sites.

You will build a capable team of automation program leads and engineers and drive equipment design, integration and production launches. The role requires a strong advanced manufacturing leadership background, hands-on experience with automation vendors, and a track record in high-volume plants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Experience with automation, vendors, and applications.
• Proven automation implementation in manual manufacturing.
• Strong communication across all levels of a site.
• Experience in high-volume, complex manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of DOE, GD&T, FMEA, DFM/DFA; programming and software concepts.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of Automation Leads and Engineers across JBPCO sites.
• Collaborate with BUs and Corporate to design, build, install and launch new equipment.
• Develop the automation roadmap and concept developments with BUs.
• Lead vendor evaluation and system acquisition from RFP to ramp.
• Prepare layouts, document design processes, and lead complex tests.
• Improve labor/space efficiency and safety; standardize processes enterprise-wide.
