Job summary

COCC is seeking an Automation Engineer to streamline CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment across the software lifecycle. You will design, implement, and support solutions that improve reliability, security, and performance, collaborating with stakeholders from code branching to production deployment.

Hybrid role in the Northeast with strong training, career growth, and competitive compensation. Local candidates preferred; you will write scripts in Bash/Python, work with GitLab, and migrate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS or related field or equivalent experience/certifications.
  • 2+ years CI/CD pipeline experience (GitLab; other Git-based tools ok).
  • Exposure to containerization/orchestration (Kubernetes) and scripting in Python/Bash.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Jira; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
  • Assist with migration toward containerized deployments (on-prem and cloud).
  • Write and maintain scripts for automation tasks (Bash, Python, etc.).
  • Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot build issues.
  • Contribute to version control best practices.
  • Foster collaboration and continuous improvement across teams.

What you'll do...
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
  • Assist with the migration toward containerized deployments (on-prem and cloud-based)

  • Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot build issues

What you'll bring...
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred for this role but will consider appropriate work experience and/or relevant certifications
  • 2+ years CI/CD pipeline experience (GitLab; experience with other Git-based pipelines like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc. are acceptable
  • Exposure to containerization platforms and orchestration tools (Kubernetes), proficiency in source control systems (GitLab, Azure Devops Server), and basic programming/scripting experience (C#, Powershell, Python, Bash
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and Jira a plus
  • Local candidates are preferred for this hybrid role.
