Job summary

Weiss-Aug MedPharma in Fairfield, NJ is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, install, and support automated production systems. You will engineer control systems, wiring, and diagnostics for manufacturing lines and assist with new machine construction.

Requirements include a four-year engineering degree, electromechanical experience, PLC knowledge and strong troubleshooting skills. The role offers growth in a high-tech medical device environment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in Engineering is required.
• Working knowledge or practical experience of electromechanical systems.
• Knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers and their programming.
• Computer literate.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Basic experience with test, measurement and analytical equipment.
• Experience in machine assembly, i.e. mechanical assembly, electronic wiring, signal debugging/tracing; mechanical alignment.
• Machining experience a plus; experience with milling and lathe machines.
• Troubleshooting complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Basic design, fabrication and grooming of automated control systems, sensing systems and production equipment.
• Wiring of electronic control systems, mechanical assembly and debugging of new equipment
• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and support existing automated equipment; electrical/electronic as well as mechanical issues.
• Develop documentation for existing and newly developed automation systems, e.g., electrical schematics, basic mechanical drawings and operations manuals. Train floor personnel on the operation of equipment
• Machining of simple parts, brackets, etc.
