Job summary

Weiss-Aug, a leading precision manufacturer, seeks an Automation Engineer at our Fairfield, NJ campus. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance automated equipment, and design custom sensing and control systems for production lines to boost efficiency.

The role requires a four-year Engineering degree, hands-on experience with electromechanical systems and PLCs, and strong problem solving. Join our team delivering high-quality, engineered solutions worldwide.

Qualifications

Four-year college degree in Engineering required.
Working knowledge or practical experience of electromechanical systems.
Knowledge of basic hand tools.
Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers and their programming.

Responsibilities

Basic design, fabrication and grooming of automated control systems, sensing systems and production equipment.
Wiring of electronic control systems, mechanical assembly and debugging of new equipment.
Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and support existing automated equipment; electrical/electronic as well as mechanical issues.
Develop documentation for existing and newly developed automation systems, e.g., electrical schematics, basic mechanical drawings and operations manuals. Train floor personnel on the operation of equipment.
Machining of simple parts, brackets, etc.
