Job summary

Engineered Cabs is seeking an Automation Engineer to support automation and controls projects across manufacturing processes. You will design automated systems, lead handoff roadmaps to operations, and train maintenance teams on new equipment.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in manufacturing, strong troubleshooting, and experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs. The role follows a 7:00am–4:00pm schedule, on-site in Watertown, SD.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years in manufacturing environments (Off-Highway, Automotive, or Sheet Metal Fabrication).
  • 1-2 years of project management and/or people management preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with design, manufacturing engineering, quality, and cost estimating teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, specify, and implement automated systems including PLCs, robotics, sensors, and HMI interfaces.
  • Develop a support plan and roadmap for handoff of projects to Operations.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and lifecycle plans for controls hardware and software.
  • Provide training to maintenance technicians and operators on new equipment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and lean initiatives related to automation.
