Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) seeks an Automation Engineer to support advanced automation systems for large-scale facilities. You will enhance conveyors, sortation, PLCs, scanners, vision systems, and SCADA platforms to improve uptime and safety across mission-critical sites.

The role involves hands-on problem solving, continuous improvement, and collaboration with operations and maintenance teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination
• Experience in at least two engineering design cycles including specification, component selection and programming
• 2+ years of experience with PLC programming, robotics system components and SCADA-based monitoring and control systems

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by complying with codes, regulations, and directives related to system operations and work safety
• Trousers? (Note: ensure system reliability by troubleshooting and modifying software for material handling control systems, including PLC platforms)
• Act as first level escalation in troubleshooting support on-site and remotely, including outside business hours
• Inspect systems to ensure operation aligns with design specifications and client requirements
• Oversee development scope, work requests, scheduling, and inspection of contractor work for specialized systems
