Job summary

Penn Life Sciences seeks an Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain GMP-compliant automation and control systems for manufacturing and facilities. This role provides hands-on leadership for PLC, HMI, SCADA, and machine-vision integration, troubleshooting complex issues and supporting capital projects.

You will ensure systems are compliant, validated, and data-integrity focused while collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, and Engineering teams across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on automation in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Direct experience with machine vision inspection systems in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize automation and control solutions (PLC, HMI, SCADA, vision).
• Troubleshoot complex issues; perform root cause analysis to improve reliability and uptime.
• Lead or support equipment introductions, upgrades, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and startup.
• Support validation, change control, and data integrity for automated systems.
