Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Automation Engineer to manage and improve equipment and assembly processes, focusing on uptime, capability, and cycle time reduction. The role involves supporting launches, implementing error-proofing, and assisting with maintenance, PMs, and quality investigations.

We value training of department personnel, collaboration on lean initiatives, and willingness to work occasional weekends.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Engineering Science/Technology and/or 5+ years of experience within a related field.
Strong background in manufacturing, automation, controls, and troubleshooting.
Experience in PLC programming & troubleshooting (Allen Bradley preferred) and HMI software programming (Factory Talk or Ignition preferred).
Experience designing, building, & programming machines/robots.

Responsibilities

Manage and improve equipment and assembly processes to increase uptime and reduce cycle time.
Support new program launches and implement error-proofing systems.
Respond to downtime, assist with equipment builds, PM development, and quality investigations.
Train department personnel and support maintenance, engineering, and lean initiatives.
Handle special projects and participate in weekend work when required.
