Job summary

Jabil in Richardson, TX is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to design, develop, implement, and optimize automated manufacturing systems. The role focuses on improving production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness through innovative automation solutions.

You will lead cross-functional teams, troubleshoot PLCs/HMI/SCADA, and mentor junior engineers while staying abreast of new automation technologies and ensuring safety standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist the automation project lifecycle from concept to implementation and continuous improvement.
• Develop, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and robots such as Fanuc, KUKA, ABB.
• Design and integrate vision and motion control systems for automated lines.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, process engineering, and quality teams to define requirements.
• Perform root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for automation failures.
• Create documentation for automation systems including schematics and procedures.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
• Stay current with emerging automation technologies and safety standards.
