Job summary

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an engineering program or equivalent
• Interest in automation design and manufacturing
• Proficient with MS Office and 3D CAD exposure
• Able to perform basic mechanical engineering computations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Travel may be required

Responsibilities

• Perform minor design changes to existing automated assembly station designs
• Conduct vendor correspondence
• Create mechanical drawings of parts and assemblies
• Create Pneumatic Schematics
• Create BOM change documentation
• Participate in internal reviews as required
• Support development of machine manuals by updating documentation
• Design basic automated assembly stations
• Review design input information and cost/schedule details
• Review technical and budgetary details with the Project Engineer
• Estimate and document station cycle times
• Assist in vendor correspondence and RFQs
• As needed, support the machine build process through purchasing, manufacturing, assembly and debugging phases
• As needed, assist in developing standards in mechanical design
• As needed, assist Customer Service in Field Engineering support
• As needed, assist in projects involving Advanced Manufacturing Engineer goals
