Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation control systems for industrial processes and warehouse equipment. You will mentor Apprentices and serve as the site technical expert on automation systems.

The role focuses on conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, print-and-apply systems, and SCADA devices, with a strong emphasis on safety and documentation, and requires flexibility for varied shifts in Arlington

Qualifications

4-year degree or knowledge equivalent to a 4-year degree.
Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor less experienced automation engineers.
Proficiency in CMMS use, troubleshooting, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Advanced verbal and written English skills for policy interpretation and communication.
Strong problem-solving mindset, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
2+ years of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and HMI/control network design with SCADA and KPIs.
Motor controls (VFDs, DC drives, starters) and electrical systems (480V 3-phase, 120 VAC, 24VDC).
Proficiency in RSLogix5000 Studio, FT View, and controls software; systems integration.

Responsibilities

Serve as site technical expert in automation control systems and mentor Apprentices.
Design, develop, implement, and optimize control systems and software.
Maintain and troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks.
Adhere to documentation and Automation Change Management procedures.
Partner with operations, engineering, and support teams to optimize MHE systems.
Monitor MHE metrics, analyze performance issues, and lead troubleshooting remotely.
Conduct root cause analysis and drive process improvements for performance and cost savings.
Communicate technical issues, timelines, and workarounds to leadership and stakeholders.
