Job summary

Abbott Rapid Diagnostics seeks a Manufacturing Automation Engineer II to support automated production lines in Scarborough, Maine. The role focuses on improving equipment performance, implementing automation solutions, and ensuring cGMP and safety standards in a regulated environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, validate processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years engineering in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with lean six sigma and DMAIC methods.
• Experience with change management principles and processes.
• Robotics experience with industrial systems (Fanuc, Stäubli, Mitsubishi, Epson).
• Experience programming and supporting PLC-based automation (Allen-Bradley).

Responsibilities

• Support automated manufacturing processes and drive quality and cost-saving initiatives.
• Collaborate to troubleshoot and improve manufacturing equipment.
• Implement automation solutions and ensure cGMP compliance.
• Develop and revise manufacturing documentation (SOPs, specs, validation protocols).
• Conduct FMEA and risk assessments for equipment and processes.
• Support CAPA and quality incident investigations.
• Coordinate projects and ensure timely execution.
