Job summary

SMC Ltd. in the United States seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to assist in the development and implementation of manufacturing and automation equipment for new projects and operations, while improving methods to meet quality standards.

You will lead project teams, support fabrication, testing and documentation, and drive IQ/OQ/PQ validations, with a focus on cost reductions to boost yield and efficiency in a GMP-style environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field with 5 years of experience, or a two-year post-secondary credential with 5 years of experience.
• Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment.
• SolidWorks experience and ability to work from 2D prints and CAD details and review 3D solid models.
• Understanding of reading electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Knowledgeable of PLC programs.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
• Robotic programming experience.
• Must have pharmaceutical, medical device, or medical equipment manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams on new projects to develop manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
• Support fabrication, assembly, testing, and development of equipment and processes.
• Develop documentation for standard operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure equipment tests and validations per IQ/OQ/PQ protocols.
• Recommend cost reductions to improve yield and reduce scrap.
