Job summary

SMC Ltd. is seeking an experienced manufacturing engineer to assist in developing and implementing manufacturing and automation equipment for new projects and operations, ensuring adherence to product specifications and quality standards.

The role involves leading project teams, supporting fabrication, testing, and validation per IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, and identifying cost-reduction opportunities while complying with SMC procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5 years of experience, or an equivalent two-year diploma with 5 years experience.
• Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment.
• SolidWorks experience and ability to read 2D prints and review 3D models.
• Understanding in reading electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Knowledgeable of PLC programs.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
• Robotic programming experience.
• Must have- pharmaceutical, medical device, or medical equipment manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate on and lead project teams to develop manufacturing equipment and automation systems for new projects and operations.
• Support fabrication, assembly, testing, and development of equipment, EOATs, fixtures, etc., with internal design and external suppliers.
• Develop documentation for operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting; evaluate methods to maintain state-of-the-art systems.
• Ensure equipment tests and validations per IQ, OQ, PQ protocols with proper documentation.
• Recommend and implement cost reductions to improve yield, reduce scrap, and increase efficiencies.
• Abide by all applicable SMC procedures and guidelines.
• Perform other duties as required.
