Job summary

Overhead Door Corporation in Pensacola, FL is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation solutions to optimize manufacturing processes and improve efficiency.

You will troubleshoot and resolve automation issues, collaborate with maintenance and production teams, and program PLCs, robotics, HMIs, and SCADA systems to drive continuous improvement while ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Automation engineering required.
• 4+ years of automation engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Certifications in automation, controls, or safety are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automation solutions to optimize manufacturing processes and improve efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues in a fast-paced production environment.
• Collaborate with maintenance, production, quality, and safety teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Program, configure, and maintain PLCs, robotics, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Analyze process data to identify optimization opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Develop and document technical procedures, troubleshooting guides, and automation standards.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance automation capabilities.
• Train and support maintenance and production teams on automated equipment and controls.
