Job summary

Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, Indiana, invites applications for an Engineer - Automation Engineering. The engineer will provide automation support for one or more operating areas and for capital projects, delivering robust control systems and compliant documentation in a GMP environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in design reviews, tune control loops, and maintain validation strategies to support startup and ongoing manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field with internship/experience in automation preferred.
• Exposure to industrial automation technologies (PLCs, SCADA, robotics) or programming (Python, C#) is a plus.
• Pharmaceutical or regulated industry experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design reviews and site control system reviews, attend/support FATs.
• Tune and troubleshoot control loops and VFDs.
• Maintain validated state of the site control system and develop validation strategies with documentation.
• Develop and review Functional Requirements, Design Specifications and Test Specifications.
• Provide periodic status updates to Project Management and leadership.
