Job summary

Fanatics Collectibles is seeking an Automation Engineer to design and deploy custom automated machinery for trading card manufacturing. You will lead control system development, implement communication protocols, and integrate new machines into existing lines.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Engineering and hands-on experience with PLC/HMI, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and CAD tools. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and focus on reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in designing and developing automated machinery for manufacturing environments.
Proficiency in automation control systems (PLC, HMI) and knowledge of Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC communication protocols.

Responsibilities

Machine Design and Development: Design and develop custom automated machinery tailored for trading card manufacturing.
Automation Controls: Create and implement automation control systems to optimize machine performance and reliability.
Communication Protocols: Develop and integrate protocols to coordinate between machines and systems.
System Integration: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate new machines into production lines.
Evaluation and Testing: Thoroughly test designs to ensure safety, quality, and performance.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Provide technical support to minimize downtime.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements for productivity.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of designs and controls.
