Job summary

ams OSRAM is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, implement, and support control systems for high-speed lamp manufacturing equipment. You will develop solutions integrating Safety PLCs, HMIs, motion control, drives, sensors, robots, and lasers, while ensuring compliance with standards.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, vision, and process engineers, perform FAT/SAT, and support on-site commissioning.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related field.
Strong PLC programming experience with emphasis on Siemens S7 / TIA Portal.
Solid understanding of industrial control systems and electrical design for equipment.
Experience specifying and selecting electrical components and control hardware.
Familiarity with robots, cobots and laser-based equipment.
Knowledge of safety principles, safety circuits, and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

Design, specify, deploy and support automation solutions integrating PLCs, HMIs, motion control, drives and sensors.
Develop and validate equipment safety systems including safety PLCs and interlocks.
Collaborate with cross functional teams on equipment design, integration, and testing.
Troubleshoot electrical, control and automation issues during field installations.
Support FAT/SAT and on-site commissioning.
Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts.
Produce technical documentation and provide training.
