Job summary

Technique is seeking a Controls/Robotic Engineer to design, program, and maintain automated systems across the production floor at our Jackson, Michigan facility. You will work with manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering teams to develop automation solutions that improve throughput, quality, and safety.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering and hands-on PLC and robot programming experience (FANUC, KUKA, ABB or similar).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related field.
  • 3+ years in industrial controls engineering and/or robotics in manufacturing.
  • Hands-on PLC and robot programming experience (FANUC/KUKA/ABB or similar).

Responsibilities

  • PLC programming, controls design, and panel wiring.
  • Robot programming, integration, and testing on production lines.
  • Develop and maintain HMIs and alarm management.
  • Create electrical schematics and CAD drawings for automation projects.
  • Troubleshoot and support automation systems with minimal downtime.
  • Lead continuous improvement to boost throughput and OEE.
  • Ensure safety standards compliance (ISO 10218, NFPA 70E, OSHA).
