Job summary

Brown-Forman Bottling in Louisville is seeking an Electrical Engineer (1st shift) to design, implement, and support packaging and process control systems across two sites. You will program PLCs and HMIs, configure Rockwell components, and lead automation projects to improve efficiency and reliability.

You will troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues, perform root-cause analyses, and mentor maintenance technicians while ensuring compliance with OEM standards and safety codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 5+ years electrical/electronic and/or instrumentation experience.
• Proficient with Rockwell PLCs, dual-channel safety circuits, HMIs and VFDs.
• Experience with FactoryTalk Batch or similar systems.
• Strong Ethernet/IP and NEC/NEMA/IP standards knowledge.
• Capable of 24/7 troubleshooting and project execution across bottling lines.
• Ability to read electrical schematics/blueprints and plan upgrades.
• Willing to support continuous operation and coordinate resources.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve packaging and process controls systems including PLCs and HMIs.
• Lead projects from startup to calibration and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot electrical/control issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Mentor technicians on maintenance and troubleshooting of controls.
• Apply codes, reliability strategies, and OEM standards.
• Plan obsolescence and automation upgrade initiatives over a 5-year horizon.
• Collaborate with Production and Maintenance to improve productivity and quality.
