Job summary

Technical Source is seeking an Automation Engineer for a system integrator client in Wilson, NC. You will own the electrical and controls design from concept through startup on Allen-Bradley/Rockwell platforms, with exposure to process, motion, robotics, and vision systems.

Responsibilities include designing, budgeting, commissioning, and testing process systems; developing PLC and HMI programs; and starting up SCADA/HMI networks at customer sites.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of industrial experience designing control systems and programming PLCs.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000) and exposure to Siemens, GE or Modicon.

Automation Engineer

Technical Source is looking for an Automation Engineer for our system integrator client in Wilson, NC, to join their project design team. You'll take customer automation projects from concept through startup, with full ownership of the electrical and controls design. Most of the work is on Allen-Bradley/Rockwell platforms, with exposure to process, motion, robotics and vision applications.

What you bring

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of industrial experience designing control systems and programming PLCs.
• Strong Rockwell Automation Allen-Bradley experience (Studio 5000), plus exposure to Siemens, GE or Modicon.
• Proven ability to take a preliminary concept to a buildable design: PLC hardware, instrumentation, control devices, networks, and PLC and HMI programming.
• Hands-on startup and commissioning of PLCs, SCADA/HMI and network systems on process equipment.
• Project management experience and proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Experience with VMware, ThinManager and SQL Reporting.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites for startups (up to 25%, primarily local).
