The Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and commissioning industrial automation and control systems for complex process equipment. This role includes PLC and SCADA programming, system integration, hardware selection, documentation development, troubleshooting, customer support, and onsite commissioning. The ideal candidate has experience developing automation applications from the ground up in regulated manufacturing environments.
- sDevelop, test, and commission Allen-Bradley PLC applications (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and/or PLC-5) using RSLogix or Studio 5000
- .Design and implement SCADA applications using platforms such as Wonderware (AVEVA), GE iFIX, or similar HMI/SCADA software
- .Configure advanced control functions
- .Support equipment commissioning, startup, customer training, system validation, warranty support, and field service activities
- .Specify, procure, configure, and troubleshoot industrial control hardware and instrumentation
- .Develop and maintain technical documentation
- .Configure industrial computers, servers, networking hardware, and associated automation software
- .Support SQL databases, data collection, reporting, and historian interfaces as needed
- .Develop software simulation and testing tools to support system validation
- .Execute software testing and support system acceptance testing
- .Participate as a key member of cross-functional project teams throughout the project lifecycle
- .Communicate project status, technical issues, schedule impacts, and scope changes to internal stakeholders
- .Maintain awareness of current automation technologies, software platforms, and industry best practices
- .Inspect and test automation hardware prior to shipment
- .Respond to customer support requests and assist with troubleshooting complex automation issues
