Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field.
• 7+ years in industrial automation, controls, or manufacturing systems.
• Previous leadership or team lead experience.
• Strong experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and control networks.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (FDA, cGMP) is a plus.
• Effective project management and cross-functional communication.

Insight Global is seeking an Automation Engineer to support a manufacturing facility in the Bronx, NY. This individual will lead automation initiatives across manufacturing and facility operations while serving as the site's subject matter expert for PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial control networks. This person will oversee a team of automation professionals, support troubleshooting and reliability efforts, manage automation projects and system upgrades, and partner with cross-functional teams to improve performance, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement. Additional responsibilities include supporting compliance and validation activities, maintaining automation infrastructure, and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and equipment reliability.

Must-Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of experience supporting industrial automation, controls, or manufacturing systems
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience
• Strong experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial control networks
• Experience troubleshooting automation systems in a manufacturing environment
• Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments (FDA, cGMP, or similar)
