Job summary

Object Oriented Search is seeking an Automation Engineer local to the DMV area to support hyper growth by building software that directly controls physical lab and manufacturing equipment. This role focuses on integrating PLCs, robots, motors, sensors, and machine vision with high-performance software.

You will collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance to enable new product development and ensure robust automation solutions across the board.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • 3+ years of automation equipment software design experience
  • Experience with industrial robots, motors, controllers and sensors preferred

Responsibilities

  • Write software controlling manufacturing/R&D equipment and industrial robots, motors, controllers, sensors, PLCs and hardware/software integration.
  • Design and program high-performance automation systems.

Job description

The ideal Automation Engineer candidate will be local to the DMV, will support hyper growth, and isn't a traditional software developer. They're writing software that controls physical laboratory/manufacturing equipment, with PLCs, robots, motors, sensors, machine vision, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Write software controlling manufacturing/R&D equipment, industrial robots, motors, controllers, sensors, PLCs, C#/C++/Java, and hardware/software integration.
  • Responsible for the design and programming of high-performance automation systems
  • The position works closely with cross-functional teams—including R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance to support new product development
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related science or engineering discipline preferred
  • A minimum of three years of experience in automation equipment software design preferred
  • Prior experience with industrial robots, motors, controllers and/or digital and analog sensors is preferred
  • 3 Years of OOP (C#, Java, C++, etc) or 3 Years of PLC Programming
