Job summary
Commonwealth Rolled Products in Lewisport, KY is seeking an Electrical & Automation Specialist to join the Maintenance & Engineering team. You will ensure proper execution of E&A aspects of projects, plan and manage capital and maintenance upgrades, and improve automation and control systems across the ABS line.
The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of industrial experience, Siemens S7/TIA Portal proficiency, and strong problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 3+ years of industrial experience.
- Siemens S7 and TIA Portal programming (Ladder, FBD, Structured Text).
- Experience with drive control and automation troubleshooting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work in a 24/7 production environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and upgrade Electrical & Automation (E&A) equipment and controls.
- Develop project specifications emphasizing safety, downtime minimization, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot equipment, review schematics, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and IT to ensure seamless operation.
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, reports, and procedure manuals.
- Provide training on electro-mechanical systems to applicable personnel.
