Job summary

Silverspace Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Process Engineer I to join the engineering team in Seymour, CT. You will support design, development, and lifecycle management of projects with a strong emphasis on automation and manufacturing processes.

The role requires reading blueprints/schematics, drafting, and project planning, plus reliability in problem solving and team collaboration across departments to ensure process consistency and product quality.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical background with a focus on automation.
• Understanding of electrical engineering and machine programming.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics; drafting and project planning skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with Shop Floor Tracking System (Aegis).
• Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct root cause analysis on failures and implement preventive measures.
• Analyze PCB data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Perform mathematical and physics calculations to support projects.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and specification sheets.
• Design and/or fabricate fixtures to streamline assembly processes.
• Author and perform product and process validations.
• Develop manufacturing processes and work instructions for PCB assemblies.
• Maintain SOPs for process consistency and safety compliance.
• Support equipment evaluation and preventive maintenance planning.
• Participate in tech/design reviews and NPI efforts.
• Provide real-time technical support to reduce downtime and boost productivity.
• Develop project schedules and deliverables under supervision of senior engineers.
