Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to provide engineering, design, and project support for automation projects in Missouri. You will lead and coordinate initiatives, design innovative automation for field-testing equipment, and ensure safety and quality in all activities.

You will work with internal stakeholders, perform SolidWorks 3D design, and contribute to maintenance strategies and process improvements while advancing technical teams and knowledge sharing across the organization.

Qualifications

• BS and 2+ years relevant work experience.
• Degree in engineering or science with automation emphasis.
• Experience in automation design, machine design, or related fields.
• Knowledge of safety systems, documentation standards, and QA.
• Proficient with project planning and cost awareness.
• Ability to travel as needed and work in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead phases of automation projects from concept to sustainment.
• Prepare specifications, drawings, BOMs, test procedures.
• Oversee check-out, commissioning, and field support.
• Collaborate with customers, vendors, and other engineering disciplines.
• Ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in project execution.
