Job summary

The Haskell Company is seeking an experienced Automation/Controls Engineer to design low voltage power and control systems for automated processes. You will develop PLC and HMI programs, review drawings, and prepare scopes of work, BOMs, and specifications in collaboration with project teams.

This role requires strong design software skills, the ability to work with clients and vendors, and willingness to travel up to half of the time for installations and startup activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Chemical or Industrial engineering (NCARB or ABET preferred).
• Experience with PLC and HMI programming is desirable.
• Ability to develop drawings using design software and provide verbal instructions to define design requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design low voltage (typically 480VAC and lower) power and control systems for automated process or packaging applications.
• Prepare scopes of work, bills of material, specifications, and other project documents.
• Review, check, modify, and develop control system drawings using design software.
• Develop PLC and HMI programs to company/client standards.
• Develop data collection and reporting software for process applications.
• Support design reviews and vendor coordination meetings.
• Travel up to 50% for installations and onsite startup.
