Carlisle Brake & Friction is seeking a maintenance/automation technician to troubleshoot and repair control hardware and to implement changes to control software used in manufacturing processes. The role also involves mechanical work, machine tooling changeovers, and general equipment maintenance.
You will collaborate with engineering, operations and maintenance to resolve process issues, monitor robot motions for quality and uptime, perform 12‑hour shift changes, and lead CI initiatives.
This is a 12-hour rotating shift position - 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Individual will be responsible for maintaining/troubleshooting control hardware and making changes/improvements to control software that is used in the manufacturing processes. Individual will also be responsible for mechanical work including machine tooling changeovers, mechanical system maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting.
Knowledge:
Candidate should have competent troubleshooting skills in PLC programming, servo systems, and variable frequency drives. Thorough knowledge and/or experience in industrial automation networks, safety devices, and electrical/ pneumatic/hydraulic systems. Basic understanding of CNC and CAD (AutoCAD). Machine vision and industrial robotics knowledge and/or experience a plus. Mechanical capabilities for changing over coiner tooling as well as robotic end of arm. Thorough knowledge and/or experience in manufacturing equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Minimum of 2 years related experience in a manufacturing environment. Plant floor maintenance or technical experience a plus. Must also have certification, or equivalent experience and knowledge, of electrical power distribution. Must possess strong communication skills, analytical abilities and have the ability to multi-task.
Minimum of an Associates of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology or Vocational Technical Training in machine controls and mechanical systems, or a minimum of 5 years of proven, equivalent work experience in lieu of degree or training.
