Champion Foods invites applications for a Controls Specialist Automation Technician on our Georgia-style pizza bakery team in SC. You will provide general controls, programming, instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical support to our manufacturing facility, focusing on automation equipment, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills with the listed hardware/software and six years of industrial maintenance experience or advanced education in automation controls.
• Must obtain the minimum assessment level required for a Maintenance Technician III.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment, utilities, and facility.
• Share knowledge of automation, controls, and PLC concepts to maintenance personnel.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment including single phase, three phase, and DC circuits.
• Execute position requirements with little supervision.
• Assist in writing and revising maintenance SOPs.
• Must have experience with process control and power distribution.
• Read and interpret manuals/schematics and P&IDs as required.
• Provide training on production line equipment to facility associates.
• Perform preventive maintenance and report results.
• Generate shift summaries, test results, project write-ups, etc.
• Troubleshoot control system hardware/software in PLC, servo, HMI, and VFD systems.
• Maintain field instrumentation and interfaces to control systems.
• Assist in spare parts specifications under the department’s program.
• Participate in special projects and communicate system modifications to personnel.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area in compliance with OSHA, FDA and Food Plant regulations.
• Ensure production line equipment runs efficiently across shifts.
• Proficient with MS Office.
