Job summary

SST Direct in Waterford, CT is seeking an experienced Automation Controls Technician/Installer for a direct hire. You will install conduit, low-voltage wiring, sensors, relays, and other control devices, read electrical and mechanical drawings, and support startup, commissioning, and owner training.

The role requires independent and team collaboration, a CT license, 2–5 years BAS/controls experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Connecticut E2 or L6 license required.
• High school diploma or technical school certificate preferred.
• 2–5 years of BAS, controls, or electrical installation experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Install conduit, low-voltage wiring, and BAS control components.
• Mount, wire, label, and terminate sensors, relays, actuators, and other control devices.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Assist with system startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and owner training.
• Prepare as-built documentation.
• Coordinate work with other trades and attend project meetings as needed.
• Maintain required licenses and certifications.
• Follow all safety policies and use required PPE.
• Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and team members.
• Work independently and collaboratively to complete projects efficiently.
• Work overtime, varied shifts, and travel occasionally as needed.
